‘Nancy’s’ life has changed for the better thanks to a project facilitated by TADTAS.
Nancy is 96, confined to a wheelchair and lives with her daughter in a fairly hilly suburb.
Her daughter contacted TADTAS to see if we could suggest a way of getting Nancy’s wheelchair from the house to the street without negotiating steps.
Our Technical Coordinator Tony worked with a commercial builder to design and construct a ramp to accommodate Nancy’s wheelchair.
With the ramp and a wheelchair compatible taxi, Nancy and her daughter can enjoy the occasional counter lunch and concert.
‘Bill’ and his wife from Rokeby are delighted with the assistance TADTAS was able to provide with re-configuring his computer system. Bill’s MS is getting worse, necessitating a re-think of sleeping arrangements and access to his computer system. Robin, our TADTAS volunteer from the next suburb gave up his Sunday afternoon to assist with the new arrangements, to the satisfaction of all.
